Where do I get Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express with Service Pack 1?
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express SP1 was a free database edition used by older RanceLab installations.
Microsoft has retired the old direct installer links for SQL Server 2008 R2 Express SP1, and SQL Server 2008 R2 is now outside Microsoft support. For a new setup, use the current Microsoft SQL Server Express download page.
If you are maintaining an existing legacy RanceLab installation that specifically needs SQL Server 2008 R2 Express SP1, use your archived installer or contact RanceLab support before reinstalling. You can also review the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 lifecycle page for support status.
Older package names previously listed here included SQLEXPRWT_x86_ENU.exe, SQLEXPRWT_x64_ENU.exe, and SQLEXPR_x86_ENU.exe. Those direct Microsoft download URLs are no longer active.
For Windows Installer 4.5 requirements on older Windows versions, refer to Microsoft’s Windows Installer 4.5 support article.
