Why Do I get "Windows Print Format File is Missing” message while Printing?

FusionRetail 6 uses Format Files (customizable design file) to print the document (bills, challan, cheque, voucher etc) .This helps you to use multiple and customizable design formats while printing a document.

You get the message “Windows Print Format File is Missing” because the required format file if not selected.

You need to select the required format(s) in the Windows Printing Option of the transaction.

Example: Follow the steps if you want to print a Sale Invoice

  • Go  to Main – S T S  (Sale Management > Transaction  > Sale (Scan POS))
  • Press Alt + W or Press (-W Opt Prn Win) button on button set 2.
  • Select the required format files in the Format Files field.
  • (for example for sale invoice – select – “Sale Invoice.repx”
  • Press ok to come back to Print Option Screen
  • Save
  • Now print the invoice.

If you want to print on receipt printer (not on a LaserJet Printer) then follow these steps

Example: Follow the steps if you want to print a Sale Invoice on receipt printer

  • Go  to Main –  S T S  (Sale Management > Transaction  > Sale (Scan POS))
  • Press  Alt + O to open the options
  • Now set “Type of Printing = DOS”. Setting Windows will use windows printers.
  • You may choose to set “Auto Print After Save (POS) = Yes “. Settings ASK will ask a question before printing. It will not print if this is set to NO.
  • Save
  • Now print the invoice.
